For the second year in a row, RAKTA wins 7 international awards

Ras Al Khaimah Transport Authority (RAKTA) has won 7 international awards within the Middle East and North Africa Stevie Awards, where the categories included winning three gold awards, two silver awards and two bronze awards in the following categories:

Gold Stevie Awards:

 1. Achievement in Product Innovation (Smart RAKBUS App)

 2. Award for Innovation in Education and Training Apps (Smart “AlBosala” App)

 3. Award for Innovation in Living, Learning, and Working Environments

Silver Stevie Awards:

1. Most Valuable Corporate Response during the COVID-19 Crisis

 2. Award for the Innovative Use of Technology in Customer Service – Government

Bronze Stevie Awards:

1. Innovative Achievement in Human Resources

2. Most Valuable Government Response H.E Eng. Esmaeel Hasan Al Blooshi, General Manager of RAKTA, stated that the Authority’s winning of 7 awards for the second year in a row is a real achievement that we are proud of and is a translation of the strategic approach pursued by the authority through its endeavor to implement pioneering initiatives and projects, and its participation in winning international awards and competing in the field of rapid development of the transport sector in a way that enhances the authority’s leadership position among the public transport sectors.

As part of its annual excellence plan, RAK Transport Authority (RAKTA) has achieved 7 leading international awards within the Global Middle East Stevie Awards, where the categories included winning three gold awards, three silver awards and a bronze award in the following categories:

Award for Innovation in Education or Training Apps “Gold” category

Award for Innovation in Investor Relations “Gold” category

Award for Innovation in Brand Renovation and Re-Branding “Gold” category

Award for Innovation in Business Utility Apps “Silver” category

Award for Excellence in Innovation in Business Product and Service Industries “Silver” category

Award for Innovative Management in Government “Silver” category

Award for Innovation in Energy and Sustainability “Bronze” category

H.E. Eng. Esmaeel Hasan Al Blooshi, General Manager of RAKTA, stated that this victory came as an appreciation for the efforts made by the authority to achieve its vision of  “Pioneering in regulating the transportation sector and ensuring the provision of safe, reliable and smart transportation services”.

His Excellency also affirmed that the authority pursues innovation and future foresight as a strategic approach in all its projects and initiatives, believing in the necessity of keeping pace with global developments in transport services.

He also confirmed that the authority seeks to compete in the transport and communications sector through its participation in these international awards, and to have a leading position among the transport sectors in the world.

RAKTA achieved the first place in SSPGE Award “Unique Achievement” Category

RAKTA achieved the first place at the level of government agencies participating in Sheikh Saqr Program for Government Excellence “Unique Achievement” category for the fourteenth session, in recognition of its efforts to implement a unique initiative at the state level, which is the introduction of two electric vehicles to the fleet of taxis in the emirate, this initiative comes to support the authority’s efforts to achieve the strategic goal of improving environmental sustainability in transportation by reducing greenhouse gas emissions, saving energy and reducing costs. This award aims to meet the government’s endeavors to improve the effectiveness, institutional efficiency, and government services it provides to customers and society.

RAKTA achieved the second place in the Environmental Sustainability Award at the level of government agencies in Ras Al Khaimah

RAKTA achieved the second place at the level of government agencies participating in the Environmental Sustainability Award organized by the Environment Protection and Development Authority in 2020, in appreciation of its efforts in implementing strategic projects and initiatives aimed at reducing the environmental footprint and carbon emissions and contributing to achieve environmental sustainability in the emirate, focusing mainly on the project of replacing taxis with environmentally friendly hybrid vehicles and introducing electric vehicles to the fleet as a locally leading experience.

The importance of the award lies in establishing the principles of sustainable development, promote a sense of community environmental responsibility, and dissemination of the concept of environmental culture among different sectors. The evaluation was also based on three basic criteria represented in policies that support environmental sustainability in the region, environmental initiatives for environmental protection, and the results and impacts through the benefit to those concerned.
