RAKTA launched the “Move…and Make a Difference” Initiative as part of its participation in the activities of the 4th National Sports Day, which is held at the state level and includes many activities and events in different emirates of the state. HE Maktoum Nasser Mardad, Manager of RAKTA, said that the initiative was motivated by RAKTA’s employees who are keen to spread the culture of sport through the community members’ practice of sports, promotion of health care and disease prevention, and development individuals’ capabilities to understanding the concept of sport as a lifestyle. The staff of the Authority dispensed with their own cars and replaced them with bicycles when commuting to work. He added that RAKTA’s participation in the National Sports Day aims at allocating a sports day for the employees, in which they can exercise sports activities that are stimulating and energizing, which translates the importance of sports in the life of the individual and reflects the need to make sports a lifestyle for a healthy and happy community.
