RAKTA Wins the UAE Ideas Award 2026 in the Smart Government and Digital Transformation Category

Ras Al Khaimah Transport Authority (RAKTA) has achieved a new qualitative milestone, adding to its distinguished record of pioneering accomplishments, after winning the UAE Ideas Award 2026 in the Smart Government and Digital Transformation category for its “Data and Smart Control Center” project. This achievement comes as part of the 12th edition of the award, organized by the Dubai Quality Group, which is considered one of the leading regional platforms dedicated to honoring institutional innovation initiatives.

The recognition was announced during the award’s closing ceremony held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, President and Chief Executive of Emirates Airline and Group, on Thursday, 11 June 2026, at Al Habtoor Hall in Al Habtoor Palace Hotel in Dubai. The event was attended by a distinguished group of government leaders and representatives of participating entities from within the UAE and abroad.

RAKTA’s winning of this category reflects the progress achieved in developing its data and smart control ecosystem, and the adoption of advanced digital solutions that have contributed to enhancing operational efficiency and strengthening the readiness of the digital infrastructure in the transport sector, in line with the country’s vision to accelerate the transition towards smart government.

The “Data and Smart Control Center” is one of RAKTA’s strategic initiatives, focusing on leveraging modern technologies in real-time data analytics and intelligent operations management, thereby improving service quality and enhancing decision-making efficiency.

His Excellency Eng. Esmaeel Hassan Al Blooshi, Director General of RAKTA, affirmed that this achievement represents a well-deserved recognition of the efforts of work teams in developing innovative digital solutions, noting that RAKTA continues to invest in smart technologies and embed a culture of innovation as an institutional approach to support the future of the transport sector in the Emirate.

The ceremony was attended by the Director General of RAKTA, along with the “Data and Smart Control Center” team, who received the award, underscoring the role of national talent in achieving this accomplishment and representing the Authority in regional competitive platforms.

This achievement further strengthens RAKTA’s position among leading government entities in digital transformation and institutional innovation, and reaffirms its continued efforts to develop a smart and sustainable transport system that supports the Emirate’s aspirations for a more efficient and innovative future.
