As part of its ongoing efforts to develop public transport services and enhance connectivity between the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah and the Emirate of Dubai, Ras Al Khaimah Transport Authority (RAKTA) has announced an update to its bus service between the two emirates in response to growing demand. The update provides customers with more flexible mobility options and reduces waiting times.
The update includes an increase in the number of direct trips from Ras Al Khaimah to Dubai from 2 to 6 daily trips, while the total number of daily trips in each direction will increase from 17 to 19, providing greater flexibility in choosing travel times.
Improved Service Frequency and Extended Operating Hours
The updated timetable includes an improved service frequency during key peak periods, with buses operating every 30 minutes compared to the previous 60-minute interval, contributing to reduced waiting times.
The first departure from Ras Al Khaimah has also been brought forward to 5:00 AM instead of 5:30 AM, while the last departure from Dubai has been extended to 11:30 PM instead of 11:00 PM, providing customers with a wider time window to benefit from the service.
Service Update Driven by Demand and Customer Needs
The service update follows continuous monitoring of demand levels for intercity public transport services, as well as consideration of customer feedback and mobility needs. The updated timetable was developed using service analysis and planning tools to support the optimal utilisation of operational resources and enhance the efficiency of trip allocation.

The new update provides more direct mobility options between Ras Al Khaimah and Dubai and enhances service flexibility, strengthening connectivity between the two emirates and supporting the use of public transport for intercity travel.
