As part of its strategic plan 2020-2025 of achieving tripartite sustainability and improving environmental sustainability, RAKTA has launched the first batch of two electric taxis in the Emirate in partnership with Al Hamra and Al Arabia Taxi franchisees.
H.E. Eng. Esmaeel Al Blooshi, General Manager of RAK Transport Authority confirmed that the transformation of Taxi operation using electric and environmentally friendly vehicles is one of the main initiatives of the Authority to achieve environmental sustainability by 2024.
It is worth mentioning the proportion of environmentally friendly vehicles (hybrid Cars) currently accounts for 60% of the total taxi fleet in the Emirate. He added that the Electric Taxi will provide a new concept to the current transportation system, which will contribute to achieve Environmental sustainability in the Emirate
