4.18 Million Users Benefit from Ras Al Khaimah’s Transport System in the First Half of 2026

Ras Al Khaimah Transport Authority (RAKTA) recorded continued growth in the performance of its transport services during the first half of 2026, with the total number of users across its various modes of transport reaching 4,177,294. The results reflect the growing use of RAKTA’s transport services, the diversity of mobility options available, and the effectiveness of its efforts to develop an integrated transport system that meets the needs of the community and supports the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah’s aspirations for the transport sector.

During the same period, public transport services recorded a total of 470,798 users, including 284,918 users of intercity public transport, 175,585 users of intra-city public transport, and 10,295 users of the rapid bus service (RAK Ride). These figures highlight the diversity and integration of RAKTA’s public transport services in meeting the mobility needs of different segments of the community.

Taxi services recorded 3,706,496 users during the first half of the year, highlighting the vital role of taxi services within the Emirate’s mobility system and their ability to provide flexible and efficient transportation options for customers.

83% of the Fleet Comprises Hybrid Taxis and 17% Electric Vehicles

As part of RAKTA’s efforts to promote sustainability in the transport sector, hybrid vehicles accounted for 83% of the Authority’s total fleet, while electric vehicles represented 17%. This supports RAKTA’s commitment to adopting more efficient and sustainable transport solutions and reducing the environmental impact of the transport sector.

RAKTA’s sustainability efforts also contributed to a reduction of 6,167 tonnes of carbon emissions, exceeding the targeted 25% reduction for the first half of 2026. This achievement reflects the effectiveness of the sustainable initiatives and practices adopted by the Authority to enhance fleet efficiency and support the transition towards a more sustainable transport system.

100% of Transactions Completed Digitally Through the Digital Services Platform

As part of its efforts to accelerate digital transformation and expand the scope of smart services, 100% of transactions were completed digitally through RAKTA’s Digital Services Platform during the first half of 2026. This reflects the Authority’s success in strengthening its digital channels and providing customers with more convenient and efficient services.

Enhancing Service Quality and Customer Responsiveness

In terms of service quality, RAKTA achieved a 100% rate in complaint resolution and lost-and-found item recovery, reflecting its commitment to responding promptly to customer feedback and requests, while continuously enhancing the quality of the customer experience across its transport services.

H.E. Eng. Ismaeel Hasan Al Blooshi, Director General of Ras Al Khaimah Transport Authority, said:
