RAKTA hosts a training program on “Taxi Planning, Operation and Maintenance” in cooperation with the UITP

Ras Al Khaimah Transport Authority hosted the specialized training program on the Taxi planning, operation and maintenance in cooperation with the International Association of Public Transport (UITP). The program lasted for three days from October 23 to 25, 2023, in the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah. Workshops were conducted by experts in the field of transportation, with the participation of over 40 trainees from the taxi sector in the country.

The training program also covered 10 topics that included the latest smart and sustainable solutions for the development and enhancement of the taxi sector through the use of artificial intelligence, big data, intelligent mobility management, security, safety, smart cities, and the future of transportation in the Middle East and North Africa region.

Furthermore, H.E Eng. Esmaeel Hasan Al Blooshi, Director General of RAKTA, stated in his opening speech for the training program that RAKTA aims, through hosting such programs, to contribute to the development of the individual skills of those involved in operational processes in the taxi sector. This is to ensure keeping up with the latest programs, technologies, and policies in the field of operational management and maintenance, achieving high efficiency when providing services.

H.E Mohammed Obaid Al Mulla, the Chairman of the UITP in the Middle East and North Africa region, expressed his great pleasure in implementing this program in the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah, which confirms the Emirate’s keenness to host international events. He also mentioned that the UITP always seeks to execute such programs and workshops to contribute to the development of the efficiency of those working in various transportation sectors, ensuring the application of the best global practices in operational management.

He also thanked Ras Al Khaimah Transport Authority and its partner, the Arabia Group Holding, for their sponsorship and significant contribution to the success of this event, which will be the beginning of future collaboration for the execution and hosting of new conferences and events in the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah.
