Coinciding with the activities of the Emirates Innovation Month, RAKTA participated in the opening ceremony of the 4th edition of the UAE Hackathon “Data for Happiness and Wellbeing”, which was organized by the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority with the support of the Ministry of Community Development represented by the National Program for Happiness and Wellbeing, with wide participation from various government agencies and interested students, specialists, employees, businessmen, information technology experts and others.
RAKTA was also keen to participate in the activities of the fourth hackathon, in order to serve its fifth strategic goal “Future shaping”, as the authority presented two challenges related to the digital infrastructure of its services.
The UAE Hackathon aims to achieve the UAE National Agenda 2021 and the UAE Centennial 2071, enhancing efficiencies, disseminating knowledge, innovation and exploring the future in the field of data. Furthermore, It aims to spread the culture of digital transformation in the country, and provides an opportunity for all segments of society to use open data as a tool to reach creative solutions to specific challenges related to the UAE’s visions and strategy in the areas of digital transformation, artificial intelligence, and others.
