Ras Al Khaimah Transport Authority Launches “Sayr” – The Integrated Mobility Platform for Ras Al Khaimah

In line with its strategic goals to promote public happiness and encourage mass transit across the emirate, the Ras Al Khaimah Transport Authority (RAKTA) has launched the smart mobility platform “Sayr.” Built on Mobility as a Service (MaaS) technology, “Sayr” offers an integrated, convenient, and efficient system for planning and organizing public trips, enabling users to reach their destinations through multiple transportation options that meet all their needs.

H.E Eng. Esmaeel Hasan Al Blooshi, Director General of RAKTA, affirmed that the launch of “Sayr” provides a smart gateway for all transportation needs, unifying different modes of transit—public transport, ride-sharing, and electric scooters/bikes—into a single platform. “Sayr” enables users to plan, book, and move efficiently from any point to their final destination through one interface, simplifying trip planning. Currently, the platform covers all intercity bus routes to meet diverse transit needs within and beyond Ras Al Khaimah, with plans to expand to vehicle rental services in the future.

H.E. Al Blooshi also highlighted that the MaaS concept relies on three core components: services, mobility solutions, and integration. It offers dynamic options for planning, routing, transport, and fare payment, reducing both travel time and cost.

He added that MaaS represents the future of transportation, offering a cost-effective, sustainable alternative to traditional private vehicle use by integrating various mobility services on a single, user-friendly platform. This enhances urban mobility experiences by reducing costs, pollution, and traffic congestion.

Notably, the “Sayr” platform is one of the most user-friendly and smart applications, designed with a simple interface that makes it easy for users to browse information, plan trips, and pay fares seamlessly.

RAKTA is also making transformative strides to offer pioneering transport services to its customers according to global best practices, developing new transport models in Ras Al Khaimah to provide smart, diverse services for citizens, residents, and visitors.

“Sayr” allows users to plan journeys by entering a starting point and destination, providing multiple options for selecting the best available transport mode. It also supports advance booking, route tracking, and access to schedule information. To facilitate payments, the platform offers secure electronic payment options via credit cards and digital wallets, ensuring a comfortable and easy mobility experience.

In the future, the platform will include additional features, such as a loyalty points program that lets users earn and redeem rewards, and a live chat service for instant support, enhancing public interaction and continuously improving services.

The “Sayr” app is available for download on App Store and Google Play, making it accessible to all smartphone users.
